The PVSSL is the premier summer soccer league in Western Mass. The League has been organized since 1983 and will currently (2017) begin its 35th year of operation. It consists of four divisions - ADULT MEN, ADULT WOMEN, HIGH SCHOOL BOYS and HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS. The 2017 season for the ADULT TEAMS will open around June 9th. There will be scheduled a total of 13 games for each team. The season for the HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS will open around June 15th. There will be scheduled a total of 11 games for each team. The playoff games will add from one to three additional games depending how far a team advances. All playoff games for 2017 will begin on Monday, July 31st and run through the 1st week in August. Finals for the ADULT TEAMS will be on Friday, August 3rd, and for the HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS on Saturday, August 4th. The raindate for the final games will be on Sunday, August 5th and/or Monday, August 6th (depending on the amount of rainfall.) NO EXCEPTIONS!
ADULT TEAMS: (1) A Registration or Entrance Fee of $110 for each team (payable before or at the first meeting and is nonrefundable), (2) a Forfeit Fee of $140 for women and $170 for men (payable before or by the second meeting. This is refundable at the end of the season), (3) a referee's fee of $70/game for women and $85/game for men - payable at each game played by each team, (4) Matching Jerseys with a number on the backside of each shirt, (5) Home Playing Field with all pertinent fees associated with it paid by the team and as directed by the agent issuing permission for use of the field. HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS: (1) A Registration or Entrance Fee of $90 per team (payable before or at the first meeting & is nonrefundable), (2) a Forfeit Fee of $120 (payable before or at the second meeting. NO TEAM WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE LEAGUE UNLESS THE ABOVE CONDITIONS ARE MET!
PRESEASON TEAM MEETINGS FOR 2017:
ADULT TEAMS: Thurs, May 11th, for registration of teams & Tues, May 23rd for the completion of team paperwork; HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS: Tues, May 16th for registration of teams & Thur, May 25th for the completion of team paperwork. All meetings will be held in the Ludlow HS Cafeferia beginning at 6:00pm. No team will be included in the game schedule if not properly registered with the PVSSL. Also, prior to or at the first meeting date for each division and given to the Commissioner personally are the dates on which your team cannot play. There will be no changes to the game schedules once they are finished, printed, and handed out, unless for unforseen circumstances.
Effective for 2016 and extending into 2017, any player who does not submit a signed waiver form will not be included on the Team Roster & Game Sheet to play in the League.
PVSSL LEAGUE ADDITIONAL NOTICES:
(1) A Reminder that the League is not responsible for any liability insurances (2). Once the game schedules are released and posted, there will be no changes made to them - submit all dates that your team cannot play on before the 1st meeting. (3). On extremely hot days (90 degrees and +) if both teams are agreeable, can shorten the two halves of their game, in addition, request extra timeouts awarded in each half as water and rest are needed by the players; (4). Any team refunds will be made through the mail following the completion of the season and time to compile any team debts owed to the League. (5). WORONOCO PARK IN WESTFIELD CURRENTLY HAS A SECURITY ISSUE WITH PARKED CARS BEING BROKEN INTO....PLEASE BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU LEAVE INSIDE YOUR CAR WHILE LEAVING IT UNATTENDED TO EITHER PLAY OR WATCH A SOCCER MATCH! (6). On days of serious inclement weather, the HOME TEAM makes the determination to postpone because they have access to the condition of the game site - if postponing, call the away team first then the Commissioners. Rescheduling will be done by the Commissioners.
